Tina Gardner’s PH Story

March 08,2017

I used to live in Maryland, and now I live in Pennsylvania.

I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension in October 2016.

I’m at the start of my PH journey. My husband Mark and I have been married for almost 28 years and we have 3 grown children.

Having to tell my Dad, and other family members was the hardest thing I ever had to do.

Pulmonary Hypertension is no stranger to our family. My Mom passed away from PH in 1995. There were no medications or treatments available back then. She passed away after having a lung transplant.

As our family is on this PH journey again we are all thankful for the advancements that have been made since my Mom’s time. We are learning more and more about PH everyday and are very thankful for our amazing team of Doctors at UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh.

There were no medications or treatments available back then.
