Walking PHor a cure with the Pittsburgh PH Support Group

September 09,2012

On this beautiful Pittsburgh morning Team PHenomenal Hope laced up our walking shoes to walk a 2-mile walk with our local PH support group. The weather could not have been nicer for the walk, and it was a great day to get out and meet friends and families in North Park in Pittsburgh. It was a great to meet and mingle with members of the “PHA home team,” and talk about life, riding bikes, and just sharing a beautiful morning.

Patients, families and friends, staff and providers from UPMC and Allegheny General Hospital as well as pharmacy and specialty pharmacy all came together for this event. Merle Reeseman, Hunter Champion and George Sokos spoke briefly, and then we walked, and enjoyed a wonderful Panera lunch provided by United Therapeutics and Lung LLC. We all enjoyed the balloon artist, a raffle for prize baskets, and most of all, each other.

Team PH was also excited to talk about our plans to dedicate our training over the next 2 years to raising awareness for pulmonary hypertension, and funds to find a cure! We look forward to sharing this journey with those who will join us on Facebook, contribute to helping us raise awareness on our blog pages, and at local events. Stay tuned, as there is definitely more news to come.

Many thanks to our friends, Merle Reeseman and Jennifer Keeley, for organizing a successful event.

Team PHenomenal Hope would also like to thank the following businesses for donating to our Phenomenal Hope health and wellness basket: Mojo Running, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Massage Envy, and SoulRun.
