Call to Action – November is Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Month
Fall is one of my favorite seasons with the beautiful autumnal colors and the transition into winter. At Team PH, fall signals not only the end of the racing season, but also the beginning of a new one. My heartfelt thanks to all our athletes, patients, donors, sponsors, and volunteers for a year filled with hard work and success to help the PH community. You have allowed us to continue to make a difference in the lives of people with pulmonary hypertension (PH).
November is Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Month, and Team PH has a number of activities planned to raise awareness and funds. See our social media channels and your email inbox for details. Some scheduled highlights will include a Team PH CVS in-store radio and receipt promotion, athlete and Let Me Be Your Lung recruitment openings, pay-it-forward opportunities, and a countdown to Giving Tuesday.
Over the past year, we have worked to strengthen our racing and fundraising teams, as well as to evolve our patient services and awareness programs. We have also completed our solar charger project that assisted PH patients devastated by hurricanes in Puerto Rico, and we recently reopened our Unmet Needs Patient Impact Fund.
The need for patient assistance is great- we need your help in replenishing this fund in order to continue assisting patients. We have a variety of ways you can contribute, including paying it forward by asking 10 of your family and friends to each make a $50 donation to the Unmet Needs Fund. This would allow one patient to receive a micro-grant of $500 from the fund.
Those who can support are welcome to set up monthly donation, or make one-time gift on our website. For only $42 a month, you can finance one Unmet Needs Patient Impact Fund grant. To learn more about the Unmet Needs Fund and even hear from patients it has directly impacted, visit www.teamphenomenalhope.org/programs/unmet-needs-patient-impact-fund.
I encourage you, your family, and friends to join Team PH and become members of this unique community of patients, athletes, family, and friends all working together in this race for a cure.
We hope that you are inspired by what we do. Please consider donating to support our ongoing efforts to make a difference in the lives of people with pulmonary hypertension. You may make an online donation at www.teamphenomalhope.org, or by check to Team PHenomenal Hope, P.O. Box 1115, Beloit, WI. 53512.
