In Memory of Steve Hartz

July 05,2022

Our friend and member of the Let Me Be Your Lungs program Steve Hartz passed away on June 26. Steve was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension in the fall of 2020 and received a lung transplant on April 1, 2021. PH athlete Elizabeth Montgomery raced tirelessly in his honor and presented him with her race medal. We honor Steve and others like him every day through our mission.

  1. My condolences to his family. Being a PAH patient for over two years now has been really scary. There is no one in my family that has it and that just didn’t sit well with the doctors that I was being taken care of. My whole life change within a blink of an eye when I was told at 40 that I also have heart failure as a result from PAH. I choose my religion to help me to cope with my health and the support of my children. I won’t give up on myself or others battling with these health issues. I do trust GOD and will stand on his word of healing and strength.
