Wishing Dr George Safe Travels
Letter from the Director
July is wrapping up. That can mean only one thing: the time has finally come. Dr. Patty George is moving to Denver, Colorado at the end of the month!
It is with a heavy heart that we send Patty off. The work she has done here in Pittsburgh has touched many people – friends, coworkers, athletes, patients, and neighbors alike. Pittsburgh is a better city for her having called it home, even if only for a few years.
What does this mean for Team PHenomenal Hope? It means new opportunities. Patty and I have been working hard to ensure as smooth a transition as possible, and putting structures and procedures in place to prepare the organization for long-term growth and sustainability.
We have a renewed vision of commitment to amplify the voice of the PH patient and to improve the quality of life of those living with pulmonary hypertension.
We are preparing to approach our network of sponsors and corporate donors with a really cool set of programs for the coming year – things we are really excited about and that are designed to provide a positive impact for patients today and in the coming years.
And those who know Patty will understand when I say that Patty has been as excited as ever, providing her enthusiasm and lightning-bolt energy to each task in the process.
We will end the month of July by wishing Patty safe travels, but not by saying, “goodbye.” We know she will be racing alongside us in August and for many years to come.
She’ll just be doing it from Denver. And heck, to someone like her, that’s just a short bike ride away.
