Letter from the Director: Many Thanks for your 2019 Impact
Together we make an impact. Thank you for your generous support on Giving Tuesday! You helped Team PH meet and exceed the donor matching gift challenge. That adds up to more than $10,000 in Unmet Needs Fund grants for the pulmonary hypertension patients we serve.
Since we exceeded our Giving Tuesday goal, another generous donor has challenged us to raise a minimum of $5,000 by December 31st to match their $5,000 contribution as well. That’s an additional $10,000 impact! As we greet the holiday season and say farewell to 2019, we want to express our sincere gratitude to the community for making so much growth possible this year. Some of our highlights from 2019 include the following.
- We granted our first competitive research award of $50,000 from our PHenomenal Impact Fund for Global PH Research. We are now in preparations to make our second award in the summer of 2020.
- Our Unmet Needs Patient Impact Fund granted $58,000 to help more than 90 PH patients with non-medical needs. We are able to continue this fund into 2020 as well.
- The PHenomenal Hope 5K had a record setting year, grossing more than $40,000. Our event organizer Kayla Frattini is now in preparations to secure the event date for 2020.
- Our endurance program team put in more than 13,000 miles in training and racing to build awareness and community around PH, and raised nearly $70,000.
This is evidence that our athletes, industry partners, and donors like you have direct impact on our programs that focus directly on defeating PH and improving the quality of life for our patients. Thank you for making this evolution possible!
We are diving head-first into the new year as we begin recruitment for our 2020 endurance program.
