2015 December News
Welcome to the December update from Team PHenomenal Hope!
In November, we shared many of the highlights from 2015, and thanked our sponsors and supporters, families and friends for helping us cross many finish lines and reach new goals along the way. In this update, we discuss the concept of where we’ve gone – the evolution of the Team PH concept in 2015 and how it will grow in 2016.

Evolution of an idea
As 2015 draws to a close, we again want to thank you for your support this past year. You helped us transform and grow in our cause of raising pulmonary hypertension awareness from one sport, one event, and one country into many events, many sports, all over the world. Our athletes are endurance athletes, running marathons and farther, competing in ironman triathlons, and going the distance in long distance swimming and ultra-cycling races. And as we have branched out into different events and areas, what our athletes share in common is a passion about sport and a desire to use it to do make a difference in the lives of patients with PH.
Our team was founded in ultracycling, and since then, we have expanded to embrace other endurance sports as a way to make an #imPHact in multiple endurance communities, inspiring people and raising awareness about pulmonary hypertension.
We believe in the power of sharing stories, the power of making a race about more than just a race, and the profound effect of racing with a community rather than just for ourselves.
We believe in the power of sharing stories, the power of making a race about more than just a race, and the profound effect of racing with a community rather than just for ourselves. That is what each athlete has in common on Team PH. That spirit unites us, whether we lace up our running shoes, click into our pedals, or pull on our swimming cap. And that power of sharing stories and experiences is also what unites us with our friends in the PH community. With new team members and new initiatives you’ll see a new side to Team PHenomenal Hope in 2016.
Welcome new team members!
We welcome to our team new athletes: Vicki Dolan, Rachel Cave, Faris Kindilchie, Hap Farber, Kristen Engle, Christian Gabarda, and Thea Kent. You inspire us
Throughout this year we have been completely floored by the amazing feats of the PH community. We’ve followed community members as they ride, walk, organize, and live to raise awareness and make a difference in the community. Every month we’ve shared a Warrior Bio in our newsletter, linking to a new PH story in our blog. We are grateful to people from around the country and beyond who have shared their PH stories with us, allowing us to help people know more about living with PH, and inspiring us personally to keep going in this race.
Coming in January
In our next newsletter we will announce our 2016 sponsors and will continue to follow our athletes as they prepare for The Pioneer New Zealand. Make sure you keep following along and invite your friends because 2016 will be our biggest year yet.
Finally, this holiday season we wish all of you health, happiness and peace. May you enjoy the holiday season with those you love, and we look forward to racing with you again in the New Year!
